Writing instruction is important today because our society is consumed by technology, and children as early as three years old are replacing traditional forms of language interactions with screen time. Universities, researchers, developmental psychologists, teachers, reporters, and business leaders openly lament our national decline in communication skills, which are now ranked as #1 among traits most sought by recruiters at the most desireable companies. Because Scholar Coach is founded by a writer and debater who worked in law, politics, and education, we are passionate about providing writing instruction at the highest level.
Our Writing Coach was first published in a national anthology of poets at age 16 and has competed in spoken word poetry in New Jersey, New York City, and Massachusetts. His creative approach has garnered the praise of newspaper reporters since high school. Afterwards, he studied Creative Writing, Law, and Politics at a tier one university in New England. His career journey diversified his writing abilities through his roles in a corporate law firm, congressional office, and renewable energy company.
Ultimately, his intellectual persuits brought his passion into focus, and he has worked as lead English instructor and consultant at private learning centers since 2012, coaching hundreds of students to peak percentiles of SAT & ACT English, Critical Reading & Essay sections; helping students win essay writing and speech competitions both locally and nationally; guiding students to developing compelling essays and supplements for magnet schools and top tier universities; assisting students with innumerable essays and research assignments; producing compelling content for students' websites and blogs, and more.
Another unique characteristic of our Writing Coach is his experience as a national policy debate champion, debate coach, and instructor at an Ivy League debate institute of which is an an alumnus -- he has spent hundreds of hours researching and compiling files for arguments ranging from critical theory to electoral politics. He has been trained in argumentation and rhetoric by professors and coaches of institutes at Dartmouth College and the University of Michigan. Furthermore, he has coached policy debate teams of elite high schools across the country and is passionate about inspiring his students' appreciation for writing as an expression of their creativity and mechanism to sharpen their critical reasoning skills.
